Living abroad is an adventure like no other. It’s exhilarating, humbling, challenging, and deeply rewarding—all at the same time. When I first left my home country, I had no idea how much my life would change. I experienced incredible moments of joy, but also deep frustration, homesickness, and countless “lost in translation” episodes. That’s why I decided to write Cómo sobre (vivir) en el extranjero—to share my story and help others navigate this rollercoaster of emotions and experiences.
This book is for everyone who’s ever thought about packing up their life and starting fresh somewhere new. It’s not just a guide; it’s a companion, full of personal anecdotes, practical advice, and a little humor to remind you that you’re not alone in this journey.
I wanted to write the kind of book I wish I had when I first moved abroad. The kind that tells you the truth about how hard it can be, but also encourages you to keep going because the rewards are worth it.
In Cómo sobre (vivir) en el extranjero, I talk about everything from battling culture shock to learning to laugh at your own mistakes. I share tips on making friends in a foreign country, navigating new traditions, and even dealing with the inevitable moments of homesickness.
But it’s not all heavy—life abroad is also full of hilarious, unexpected moments, and I’ve included plenty of those stories too.
One of the things that makes this book special is the beautiful artwork by Fernando Mena. His illustrations bring my words to life in a way I never imagined. They add a layer of warmth and humor that I think every reader will connect with.
Writing Cómo sobre (vivir) en el extranjero was as much a journey for me as living abroad itself. It gave me the chance to reflect on all the lessons I’ve learned and all the ways I’ve grown. My hope is that it will inspire, encourage, and comfort others who are either considering life abroad or are already living it.
If you’re curious about the world, eager to grow, or just need a little nudge to take the leap, this book is for you. Together, we’ll explore the beauty and challenges of building a life far from home—and I’ll be there to remind you every step of the way that you’re not alone.
Thank you for letting me share my story. I can’t wait for you to dive into Cómo sobre (vivir) en el extranjero. I promise, it’s going to be an adventure worth taking.
